Don D. Diehl Jr., 66, of Lincoln, died Sunday, July 22, 2012, from complications of a cardiac arrest. Living in Havelock his entire childhood with his surviving brothers, Jack and Mike, he had many friends. He graduated from Northeast High school in 1965 and served in the U.S. Navy until his injury in 1965. He worked for the Burlington Railroad and then the Goodyear plant until his retirement in 2000. In 1972, he married his wife, Linda Anne Schumacher. Don, an avid fisherman, was a member of the Lincoln Bass Club for many years. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge about fishing with whoever would listen to him. When Don retired in 2000, he spent at least six months of every year doing what he loved best, fishing. Don was a proud member of the Tightwad Missouri Fishing Fellows. He spent many happy hours on Truman Reservoir pursuing the elusive crappie and bass.
