Bryce Doebele

Bryce Clayton Doebele, of Lenexa, Kansas, passed away on Friday, July 14.
Born on Aug. 17, 1947 in Belleville, Kansas, Bryce was the son of Edward Clayton Doebele and Zelma Marcelle Jones. In 1975 he married the love of his life, Jaynie Margaret Cash. They welcomed two sons, Josh and Alex. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather.
A proud 1965 graduate of Lincoln Northeast High School in Lincoln, NE, Bryce was an All-State athlete in basketball, baseball and football, which earned him Hall of Fame honors. Bryce received a basketball scholarship to the University of Nebraska and later went on to attend Nebraska Wesleyan University where he was inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame. After college, Bryce served in the U.S. Navy from 1970–1974 and was stationed in Naples, Italy where he met Jaynie.
In 1988, the family relocated to Lenexa, Kansas for Bryce’s job with American Tobacco Company, where he worked for more than 20 years.
Bryce had a deep love of sports and closely followed University of Nebraska athletics. He enjoyed spending time with his family, keeping up with his college buddies and always maintained a close relationship with his siblings.
Bryce is survived by his wife, Jaynie, two sons, Josh and his partner Anna of Overland Park, Kansas, Alex and his wife Michelle of Overland Park, Kansas, one brother Dudley Doebele of Lander, Wyoming, one sister Donna Wade of Weeping Water, Nebraska and two granddaughters Reese and Sloan.
