Sharon (Grim) Samp Domsalla
February 6, 1947 - May 25, 2025

Sharon Kay Samp-Domsalla, 78, was born Sharon Kay Grim, Thursday, February 6, 1947 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Delbert Oliver and Margery Edith (Watts) Grim. Sharon had one sister, Barbara. She attended Ansley, Nebraska and Broken Bow, Nebraska elementary schools and graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School in Lincoln, Nebraska in May, 1965.

She briefly attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln until she married Rodney Leon Samp July 16, 1966. They purchased a farm near Oshkosh, Nebraska that same year. Three sons were born, Richard, Michael and Douglas Samp, over the next several years.

The family moved to Grant, Nebraska in the summer of 1976 where Rod worked for Dudden Implement John Deere dealership and MoorMan's Feeds. Sharon worked at the Farmer's State Bank as a teller and later worked at the Perkins County High School as a bookkeeper while Mike and Doug were in high school. She attended every activity her boys were in and also volunteered her time judging high school speech.

The family spent summer weekends at their cabin near Lake McConaughy. Many cherished friends from Grant, along with Sharon's parents were neighbors at Van's Lakeview. The annual neighborhood fish fry where dozens of friends, neighbors and family joined together to enjoy walleye was a favorite event for all involved.

Rod and Sharon moved to Fort Collins, Colorado in 1997. In 1999, they moved back to Nebraska near Lake McConaughy where they built a home. Rod passed away March 10, 2002 after 36 years of marriage.

Sharon remained at the lake home and many wonderful memories were shared there. Sharon was always the center of the entire family, cooking fantastic meals, decorating for holidays and maintaining her beautiful home.

Sharon was an active member of her church including the church choir, Order of Eastern Star, and PEO. After Rod's passing, Sharon dedicated her time to the Brule Volunteer Fire Department as an EMT for 17 years. She began by attending classes, recruiting friends and neighbors to serve the very rural area around the lake. She even used her own building to house the emergency vehicles and equipment. She was instrumental in obtaining grants and equipment for emergency use. She retired in 2021.

She was a fantastic homemaker, creating settings like you'd see in magazines, and displaying family heirlooms amongst the big game trophies that she and her family harvested. A Winchester descendant and daughter of a National Champion trap shooter, Sharon was a tremendous shot with firearms and was an extremely successful hunter. She most enjoyed hunting for various species with her husband, Rod, second husband, Harv, sons, and grand-kids.

Sharon met Harvie Domsalla in 2013. Sharon moved to Douglas, Wyoming in 2021, and the couple were married December 12, 2022. Harv and Sharon spent winters in Sierra Vista, Arizona, but were always home for Thanksgiving and Christmas so her family could be together. Being with Sharon was always her family's true home.

Harv and Sharon made countless road trips from Wyoming to Arizona, exploring everything between and beyond. Sharon loved to photograph the sights and shared history and wildlife from the areas they visited. She truly had a special talent to capture the beautiful sights around her.

Tragically, Sharon suffered a massive stroke on May 17, 2025. Numerous family and friends were able to visit her before she peacefully passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 27, 2025 in Douglas, Wyoming. Sharon was a selfless, talented, warm and beautiful person who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband Harv Domasalla; sister, Barb (Leroy) Juengel; sons, Rick (Nancy), Mike (Missy), and Doug (Stacy and Katelyn Fletcher); grandchildren, Jenna (Dan) Larson, Abbie, Jack, and Mason Samp, Ben, Tyler, and Asher Samp, Alyssa Janzen, and Nathan Janzen; great grandchildren, Kimber and Owen Larson, Amara and Theo Samp, Amber, Tanner, Conner, and Harper Samp, Fabian Corona, Boone Thompson, and Hazel, Roxy, and Eleanor Janzen; step children, Chanin Domsalla and Ryan Domsalla; step grandchildren, Brandon, Jacob, and Chance Domsalla nephew, Jim Juengel; and countless friends she has made over the years.

A celebration of Sharon’s life will be Sunday, June 8, 2025 at 11:30 A.M. at the Congregational United Church of Christ, 405 North Sixth Street, Douglas, Wyoming with a luncheon to follow. Interment will be at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, June 9, in the Ogallala Cemetery in Ogallala, Nebraska.
